Everyone would love a magic wand to be able to see faster progress when it comes to getting fit and working out. To be honest, nothing beats hard work – day in and day out. Progress will always come to those that work consistently. There is no magic pill you can take to see immediate results, but there are methods to push progress further, faster.
Here are your top five tips for faster progress:
Take Recovery Days
Seriously, taking a recovery day will actually help you to progress faster. If you put the work into the gym, your body needs time to rest and recover. This is because of a strength principle called progressive overload.
This principle states that in order for muscles to adequately recover they need 24-36 hours of rest. If you train chest on Monday, don’t hit it again until at least Wednesday.
Eat Clean and Consistent
Many people overlook the strength of a wholesome diet. You cannot outrun your diet!
In order to eat clean, you should adhere to a whole-foods approach that limits all processed and fast foods.
Lack of progress is the largest factor in people who do not continue training. Don’t quit, take care to track your progress, eat clean, find a workout partner supplement, and take adequate recovery days.
Partner Up
Have you ever noticed that many of the strongest guys and girls at the gym are training with a partner?
The partner could provide a sense of morale, or motivate you – whatever the reason, people who train with a workout partner seem to work harder during a workout.
Do yourself a favour and find a workout partner that will push you and let you grow in fitness.
Track Your Workouts
The only way to truly see progress is to track your workouts. Go grab yourself a workout tracking book and start writing everything down from weights – to sets.
You will be resting in between each set anyway so instead of jumping on your phone get into the habit of tracking your workouts. This will allow you to see and monitor your results in the fastest way.
